You probably assume that each new Word 2016 document starts with a page size reflecting a typical sheet of paper. Such foolishness. Word’s Normal template does specify a page size equivalent to a standard sheet of paper. In the United States, that’s 8-1/2-by-11 inches. In Europe, the A4 size is used. You’re not stuck with.
I have installed Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac on my brand new iMac. I'm using Microsoft Word 2011 for Mac and I have opened the 'Word Publishing Layout' template (this is essentially Microsoft Publisher). I'm trying to set up custom page sizes by performingthe following steps. I go to File - Page Setup and use the following settings:1. Settings: Page Attributes2.
Format For: Any Printer3. Paper Size: I choose 'Manage Custom Sizes'4. I create a 24x36 page and save itWhen I do this, Word 2011 (and Word 2008) for Mac will only go to a maximum of 22 inches wide and 22 inches in height. Is there any way around this? I need the big sizes to do digital proofs for my business.
I don't want to scale down to 12x18 (essentiallycutting the proof by 50%) because when I import it into my other program that can accommodate any size document, I have to do a lot of manual work to get things back to scale. Thanks in advance for your help. If we can figure this out, I'll be grateful.AC. Two points of clarification:-). Mac Word's Publishing Layout View is not Microsoft Publisher.
Essentially or otherwise. It's merely a mode that is nothing more than a veneer which gives the impression that Word can be used for page layout work. 'Under the hood' it's still Word.MS Publisher is a completely different program expressly designed for page layout & is not available for Mac. The maximum paper size for a document in any version of Word - PC or Mac - is 22'x22'. That is a fixed parameter of the program regardless of output device capacity. Word is a word processing program designed for producing manuscript-type documents.Depending on what you need to do you may be able to use PowerPoint which will accept custom paper sizes up to 56'x56'.
However, I don't know what program you intend to import it to, though, but I doubt that PowerPoint will output a compatible file format.AI: Artificial Intelligence or Automated Idiocy??? Please mark Yes/No as to whether a Reply answers your question. Regards, Bob J.
